Chain and sprockets?

Chain and sprockets?

Postby Gruni » Sun Jul 04, 2010 12:58 pm

Well we have established that my chain and sprockets have had their day...

What's a good price on an O-ring chain and sprockets?

I just wondered as it has been about four years since I bought any... the XR restoration... and at the time I got all three for about $130 the chain was a good o-ring but the sprockets were just no name ones from memory.

Well the WRf has new D.I.D. o-ring chain and new sprockets... initially I was quoted just under $200 but in the end Turbo looked after me on the prices and I walked out $164 out of pocket; only to get home and realise I had an identical 50T sprocket (that I ran for 3 weeks on the XR) sitting in the shed. Oh well the refund I get will cover the cost of the spare Twin Air filter I want. :fart:

Oh and thanks to Frank for bringing his chain breaker and other gadget over and fitting the new chain for me!

Gruni, you need one of these chain breakers, only about 60 bucks and they are very well made (in Australia). their tyre levers work well too.

That does look the goods Chubs... I didn't notice a price tag on that page? Certainly something I will add to my toolkit in the fore seeable future, but I hope this chain lasts for a goodly while before I need to do it again. :geek:

i carry mine in my bum bag, along with a short peice of chain and 2 spare joining links so that i can replace a damaged section of chain should the need ever arise.

it says RRP is 70, i think i paid more like $55, but i was getting a few other things at the same time.
