I think I need some new rubber on the WR450F.
The rear has a Dunlop D952. Been on for about 600km. I don't like it. The rear end of my bike is always out of control. I don't think it's me that's causing that, so I'm going to blame the tyre. The front still has the factory Dunlop D908F. It's knobs are worn right down. Can't say it gives me any problems but no doubt there is a better tyre.
The terrain I ride varies a lot. Firm mud, grass, loam, a bit of clay & finely crushed granite like you find on firetrails.
Vote for what you think, Front & Rear. or make another suggestion.
Thanks

B1 & B2 seem to be very happy with some tyres they both got recently(& got them at a great price I hear)... I didn't vote as I got no idea about the different tyres. I got a cheap shyte($65 fitted) road legal, hard terrain knobby on the back (VEE Rubber VRM147). For me, as long as a tyre has some s on it & tyre pressures are round about right they'll do. That theory seems to work ok for the go-anywhere aggi.

The old XR is a bit like the Agbike... Quite happy with the Dunlop 606 I run, but then I do a lot of black top and it wears hard, but is probably the most aggressive profile I could find for a "road" tyre. Over 1500kms mostly on road and it still has a good 50% on it.
You're a great friend but if the zombies chase us... I'm tripping YOU!

I put Dunlop D606 on my XR400. They wore really well - only set of tyres I ever put on it. BUT The grip just wasn't there for me.

I find the best tyres are the ones you get for free!
I'd choose the S12's becuase everyone tells me they're the bee's knees.
But really I think it comes down to try and see what works for you. Tyre choice is as a personal choice as women.

I got Motoz Tracula on the front and Tractionator on the rear. I like them in the sand but they kinda suck in the mud. They've lasted well and were reasonably priced.

What B1 said to the power of infinity squared. To even say there are the ultimate shizzle is an understatement. They are the only tyre you can ride around on and still have a stiffy all day All Hail the Pirelli Extra, Punch the air and get woot woot woot woot-ing. Once you have tried them you will never look back, Trust me, Im a doctor

I might hijack this thread slightly and ask what sort of tyres I should run on the new DRZ, been riding twice today and the thing is skatey, I ended up turning it around while going around a left hander with some ruts mud and water I ended up with the bike facing backward with me lying on the right side of it, moved fairly quick as the exhaust felt a little to warm for comfort. I am blaming the tyre not my first day riding experience for my stack, hence I need new tyres :)
As for where I ride, today was along the goulburn river, soon it will be bogies/high country.
(12:55:28) LUKE: Matty wont be on the DRZ for too long so it'll get lighter quickly
