Eoi Dargo late November

Re: Eoi Dargo late November

Postby RideOrBeRidden » Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:13 pm

Righto we are looking at the last weekend of November at this stage as Jayson has a birthday the weekend before.
I have also been made aware that i need to sort out a ride for the girls :hellfire: so if i can talk Dave into running a ride for the chicks then i guess partners can come along to ride too, or not.
Again, first 4-5 hands up will be it and i will still need to know asap.

lvl 2.5 ride but due to terrain lets call it a 3 pending good weather otherwise add more.

When you did the HCR, we left Dargo about 10 & you got to Wonnangatta via the Pinnacles about 4. Add 3 hrs or so to get back via the Eaglevale road & that's a 7pm return. You'll have daylight savings, so it is doable I guess.

You really think its a lvl 2.5 -3 ?
Don't think I'd ride down Billy Goats. Mind you, I haven't been on it since it was rebuilt a few years ago.
Or
Are you going to come down Zeka ? I'd ride that - maybe ...

And coming back, you'd have to go up Wombat or Hearne Spur - don't think I'd ride them either.

Maybe I'm being soft .....

I might, but I think I'd head up the East side of the Dargo River towards Wild Horse Valley or Mt Steve / Birregun area, as opposed to where you are going - more of a true lvl 2.5 -3 ride

Dargo to the station without the Pinnacles used to take me 1 1/4 hrs and that was with the old muddy section leading to the station, where do you get 3 hrs from?

Yeah i need to come around and sort out some routes with ya...there's so many options on which way to do a loop around there.
Re: time on the Saturday, we can easily knock some time off our last trip to be back in daylight but getting back on dusk doesn't faze me a lot.
Claire just rang me, it seems the last weekend doesn't work for her...so it will be the second last weekend of November now.
i will edit the first post to reflect this.
To confirm the dates again, it will be the 19th to the 21st of November with Friday being just for getting there and Sunday should see everyone home before dark.

I was thinking a loop around the Talbotville area would be easy enough, maybe drop in to the old gold diggings where you went with the 4x4 on the last trip? I have no issue though really where you take them.

I reckon we will probably want a volunteer for a fuel drop on the Saturday too, if someone has a partner that is willing/capable of driving into Eaglevale [flat but windy gravel rd about 40? kms worth] feel free to dob them in for the job.

You can have my spot as i will be in bali still, to the Station and back is easy possible, as long as you don,t go through grants.
You can do collingwood spur to talbotville, blue rag range, bold hill, tea tree range, hearn spur, eaglevale comwell bridge and back to the pub
Whatever

I think Scott would be interested in this so put him down as a maybe and I'll ask him this weekend.

I might just come along for the company as I really hate the high country riding. I find the distance too hard, I just don't have the stamina sadly.

But I love you guys and I love alcohol

H, if I'm leading a ride from there, you'll be able to do it easy.
