The bit that amuses me though.... Because the pipe is buggered it is cheaper to replace it with an aftermarket performance pipe... More power coming online.... ![]() (21:33:12) Andyh: hey scuba, i extreem kleened my helmet !!!!

Re: Red Light Ride
ok. just to clear this up... at the time of posting this up, i thought u were taking the piss and exagerating the number of jay's injuries. i have since learnt that this was a fair dinkum report and quoted from jay's own post on DBW. so here is my official apology cos i now feel like a real asshole. best wishes j. will catch ya on the trails again soon. let us know when ur back on the steed so we can tee up that warby ride. i have come for a battle of wit's, but u appear unarmed.
Re: Red Light RideOK WHERE TO START
First up thanks to the Scuba clan for making it a reality....... Was a pleasure to finally put faces to names,i still think i might have the odd one or two confused....... ( I AM EASILY CONFUSED ) To all involved in making the first redlight ride a success from a riders point of view,i thank you all for an awesome job... TRACK MARKING,MARSHALLS,FIRST AID,SWEEPS,BIKE RECOVERY(HAVE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE HERE) AND TRACK LAYOUT ITSELF WERE ALL A1 IMO The prizes and giveaways were of as good as you can get,bar the raffle of bike but being your first gig may have been a bit extravagant to have any ways....... The track level imo was spot on,some may say could have been a little more difficult which i think only creates bottlenecks so i was more than happy with what was provided..... Plenty of weekends to in a year to challenge your skills, would much prefer theses type of events to be more about the charity social side than a back breaking enduro type ride....There is sanctioned events for that so if you think your up for it maybe give one a go... JUST SOME THINGS THAT MAY HELP...... PLEASE NO ONE TAKE THIS AS A NEGATIVE,BECAUSE I HAD AN AWESOME DAY AND WOULD BE THERE AGAIN IN A MINUTE IF POSSIBLE...... Would have been great to be able to ride and camp in the same area....... A big screen setup somewhere sat nite so footage from the days ride could be viewed while waiting for the band to crank up etc..... Couple of other things not really worth mentioning.... i know you all will already have some great idea's for the next one........ SO TO WIND IT UP THANKS ONCE AGAIN TO ALL INVOLVED.... RLR,VOLUNTEERS,COMMUNITY GROUPS,GOVERNMENT BODIES EVERYONE INVOLVED YOU ALL MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO HAVE A GREAT DAY WITH SOME OLD FRIENDS AND NEW........ ONLY ONE THING COULD TOP IT AND THAT WOULD BE BEING ABLE TO BE THERE AGAIN NEXT YEAR........... p.s i have pleased the DIRT BIKE GODS WITH THE SACRIFICE OF A PERFECTLY GOOD HUSKY in return for the great weather they supplied on the day ![]() "Robo, I'm afraid that is not going to buff out" - Longo @ Red Light Ride, Boolarra 2009
Re: Red Light RideLol well said robo.
Yes i would like to give thanks too before i forget and this thread gets buried. Thanks to all that got the idea off the ground, to all those that put in god knows how many hours in setting out the track, absolute top effort there [i have been building trails for mtb and dirtbikes for years so know what is involved and i could see a ton of work has gone into that loop] to all the track marshalls they did a top job [sorry if i roosted any of you as i turned corners] to all the medico staff and all the other volunteers that made it all a success and most importantly the sponsors of the event. DSE too i guess...thanks for letting us play in the parks on our toys. Sorry Roger if i didn't catch up with you later on, i know you wanted to test my muffler again, i looked around but i couldn't find you so i figured you were out riding some primo singletrack, and the pub was calling me so i reluctantly left. Mel a big pat on the back to you, i don't know what sort of events you have organised in the past but this went like clockwork so full points to you and your family. Big thanks to Scuba too for um.. related reasons. There may be a bit more of a report to come yet, but in the meantime here's the last 2 clips of the first loop: http://vholdr.com/video/boolarra-cfa-fu ... run-clip-4 http://vholdr.com/video/boolarra-cfa-fu ... run-clip-5 Bloody hell: http://vholdr.com/video/boolarra-cfa-fu ... run-clip-4 http://vholdr.com/video/boolarra-cfa-fu ... run-clip-5 http://vholdr.com/video/boolarra-cfa-fu ... run-clip-5 http://vholdr.com/video/boolarra-cfa-fu ... run-clip-4 Last edited by RideOrBeRidden on Wed Sep 09, 2009 9:33 pm, edited 5 times in total.

Re: Red Light RideThanks for that guys!
The positive feed back is always awesome! I agree - camping closer to the ride would have been fantastic, am currently investigating this option. Big screen hmmm I do agree - we had the projector but were afraid that the Pub nutter may have broken it! We will keep you uptodate with all the rides that I organize - there are a lot more on the horizon! Mel ![]()
Re: Red Light RideOK... I will no doubt forget something but here goes.
This was one of the best weekend rides I have ever participated in. You need to understand that it was not just a ride, it was a social experience on many levels. I must first of all say how proud I was of all the ORC members. There were a fair numbers of riders and do you realise that ORC made up over 10% of the total riders. Not bad for a little club I reckon and all members conducted themselves in a manner respectful to the organisers, marshals and authorities and the environment. Next I'd like to thank the ORC members that travelled from far away to be a part of it. I, and I know the organisers appreciate the commitment to the event and the support shown to the CFA. Now Mel, you must be congratulated for pulling it all together and persevering when the chips were down. Without the persistence of people like you these types of events would fall by the wayside tied up in bureaucratic bullshit. I dare say you had support also and Ads was still by your side on Saturday night so he can't be all bad like you were telling me... (just kidding Ads )Now for the ride itself: Robo and I departed from home at 05:50 in order to get gas and meet Boots (now Goose) at BP Sands Road. Boots was running a little late so we kept going down the highway to save her calling in for juice.. I had plenty of fuel so it was an opportunity to make up a little time as we were to meet Aggie in Trafalgar. Meeting Aggie and introducing Robo and Boots was virtually right behind us. We left Traf and headed for Boolarra only to time it exactly and meet Blitzem and Langers along the road by coincidence. Soon we were pulling into the staging area where we did the meet and greet and unloading. Most of us headed up to the registration area with our bikes. We registered and then went through scrutinizing. The KLX was sweet and then went through the DSE sound check. Testing, one, two, two, three thousand rpm and she was sweet pulling a 84dB note. Roger, made a note that it was a KLX450r with a Power-Bomb header and FMF Q4 tail and I think he had a little stiffy but I can't confirm that. Langers and Boots filling her Hydro-Pack, Robo, myself, Drewbius and Aggie. Blitzem's Gasser: The Paddock: From this point it was pretty much riding some of the most pristine trails ever. The first loop was greasy as and provided some awesome wheel spin. There was an excellent mixture of single and open trails which although providing some challenges was not above the level of virtually all riders. This might sound a little odd but in essence it was as hard as you wanted depending on the twist of your right hand and because there was not a plethora of riders virtually the whole track could be ridden with minimal delays. It was about a 30km loop which I reckon was perfect. I say perfect because you could ride it as many times as you wanted. You could do an easy 30, medium 60 or push it for a 90 before lunch. It is my understanding the quicks were cutting laps in around 36 minutes. Because it was a social event as much as a ride I did only the one loop in the morning session and then played social butterfly chatting with any one that would listen. Once the track was closed for lunch the sweeps did a lap to ensure everyone was back safe. We all got our provided lunch which in my case was a burger washed down with a Mother. Then it was time for the raffles... There were so many prizes I thought even I might have a chance at winning something.... ORC had more then 10% of riders and I reckon we got as much of the prize pool. I won a helmet signed by Bilko and Cam Sinclair and a show bag with heaps of cool stuff in it, Carlos and drew won show bags, Rideo won a fully sick gear bag and Daz won a signed Jersey. Ag Man picked up a lovely set of Fox goggles for having the shhhhhhhh Ag bike... Then it went sick, Todd, one of the organisers started launching free stuff off of the truck into the crowd.. T-Shirts, stubby holders, sun shades, all sorts of stuff... It was pretty cool I must say. The sweeps went out one more time to ensure the track was clear and then she was opened again but this time in reverse.... Because of the number of bikes and multiple loops the tracks were tackier and we were all hooking up something sweet... The KLX was moving well considering I was on the back and I was into it again... A fair few had left before us this time so I got to do some passing... I was thumping up this hill when I passed Robo... Although by the time I passed him I could have rounded him up on foot Robo and the Brute Husky: It was at about this time I told my riding party that we need to move cos I needed poos... Off we go again once we knew Robo was right in the hands of the recovery vehicle... Now I forgot the jump was a lot steeper in reverse and hit it fair moving... Well my arse must have puckered a fair old bit cos that poo didn't come out until late Sunday arvo, 24hrs later If the photographer got a snap of that you will see my eyes popping out of my head and prove to you that big boys can fly. Well by pure fluke I landed it and continued on like I meant to do it. It was only minutes later and the ride was over... A few went out again but I wanted to relax so I just mucked around back at the cars... Boots had a little off but enjoyed the mud and had a smile from ear to ear upon returning to the cars... The mud was like a badge of honour and she was proud as punch of it.... ![]() Slowly we all reluctantly packed up and headed for the pub's camping area where most were camping for the night if they were in fact staying the night. (21:33:12) Andyh: hey scuba, i extreem kleened my helmet !!!!
